Hey, my name is Martin Smékal. I'm a freelance visualization artist based in Prague, and my work revolves around Unreal Engine. I originally studied classical animation at film school, which later led me into compositing, previz, and art direction.
I also have a solid grasp of VFX studio pipelines — especially color management and camera data ingest. I know, it’s a weird mix…
Why ROBOT BARON?

Couple of reasons. I love robots, and I love making fun of monarchs — basically my two favorite things in life. Also, my last name isn’t great for English-speaking clients.
I’m aware.
I’ve always loved creating characters and stories. The character of the ROBOT BARON is actually part of a series of short films I’d love to make in the future using Unreal Engine. He’s an absolute monster — a deranged maniac inside a giant, rusted metal robot body.
So why not use him as my alias, right?
What I can do for you
As I mentioned, I’ve got a weird mix of skills. I’ve boiled them down to “visualization artist,” since it’s probably the closest generalist description.
