Sports Pavilion Líbeznice

"The redesigned hub for athletes in Líbeznice”

The Brief

In December 2025, I worked with Anna Podroužková and Maty Donátová on another small architecture project. This time it was a competition entry — a redesign of a small sports pavilion near the school complex.

The site is in a town called Líbeznice, which has a rich history of forward-thinking architecture competitions and realizations — like the firefighter station, or the new school buildings.

This was a pretty small project, and the timing was tight — only a couple of days to deliver 4–5 archviz images.

The Process

From the very beginning, I knew I had to rely on AI for the environment around the building. We had to place the pavilion into the real setting around the running track, and there was simply no time to build the whole area properly in 3D.

We had a photo provided as part of the competition brief, and it had to be used for one of the views. For the other angles, I planned to use the newly released Nano Banana Pro (at the time).

It took a lot of generations, but it actually worked exactly as intended.

The input was a render from Unreal Engine with only a ground plane — just enough to lock the correct perspective — plus the competition photo for the first image. For the rest of the views, I used that first image as reference and let Nano Banana hallucinate the environment.

And honestly — it worked. It even handled the integration of the 3D render into the environment surprisingly well.

Of course, there was still a healthy dose of Photoshop retouching and editing. The final touches also involved generating reflections of the environment on the glass, as well as adding people into the scenes.

The Conclusion

More and more, AI is becoming another "rendering engine" in my workflow. If I know ahead of time the client won’t need a video, then on a still frame you can generate pretty much anything now — and it won’t have that bad “AI look” we were fighting in the past.

For the Instagram presentation, I also played around with AI-generated movement. I didn’t want anything fancy or any camera moves — just subtle animations where you can check out the architecture design and get a slight sense of being there through small motion.

Quick and cool project.
